i2 - internet interaction (and a bit more...)

Today people are using more and more the Internet to relief themselves from any sort of physical engagement / duty / whatchamacallit. From keep tabs on their favourite superstar, which surprisingly was caught farting in his/her own home (my God, superstars are human beings! i did not know that...) to trying to find their loved ones over the Internet, people are pretty much able to do anything over the Internet. They can embarrass themselves by posting videos in which they think they're doing a cool stuff, or they can create an online profile in which they can freely lie thinking they're just bending the truth a bit...

But is this thing good? Do you think lying to others makes you feel and look any better? Does that make you cooler? Are you a hot-shot or hot mamma if you lie even about your photo?
I understand if one person lies regardin his/her age. It has happened. People don't take that in account anymore. But when you start saying things that aren't you - they might make you look more impressive than you are in reality - aren't you lying to yourself? One thing I can't stand is people thinking and acting like they're the world's bosses and role-models. Shouldn't honesty mean something today?... the reality of today begs to differ.

Appearances and "public" acts dictate how the world percieves people. The base for this is of course - the Internet. A bit of photoshopping, or a download of someone else's picture, some details or facts that seem Star Trek-ish compared to one's normal life, and eurika! We have a public profile that makes us seem almost perfect. Why not go all the way and be perfect? We can't. In the end people will find out about you and nobody will take you seriously.

But there are things regarding Internet Interaction that are funny. When you met a girl/boy, normally the other one would ask the other person's phone number or address to talk or come by. Now this thing has been replaced by "Auzi papushe, da-mi id-ul tau de mess sa-ti dau add pe hi5. te iubetc care este..."
Isn't it romantic? Even this is starting to fade out because people aren't meeting face-to-face anymore. They meet usually in chat rooms making a real-life communication harder than it might look. Of course, it's good to meet new people from abroad, but what happens when you fall in love with someone and that certain someone turns out to be different from what you ahve expected? or what if that certain person lies to you constantly saying thing that are meant to make you think everything's ok?

I really have no idea how long last internet relationships, may them be friendships or love-relationships. One thing I know is that we put our souls in them as much as we put in old friendships/loveships (Oxford Dictionary watch out! I'm on a roll... :P ). And one thing that sucks the most is when reality catches up with you. Then everything crumbles. People think they've done nothing wrong, yet their actions say the contrary. Disbelief and insecurity begins to float above everybody you meet afterwards.

So many songs have the phrase "Why can't we all just get along?". Few songs say "Why can't you be honest with you and everybody else?"
